Religion and Film Studies in a Muslim Country

2015 International Conference on Religion & Film

We were delighted to see so much interest in religion and film studies and we hope that the Conference will be a springboard for the exchange of ideas regarding religion and film among Turkish scholars. Indeed, we hope that Turkish universities might now sponsor conferences of their own on religion and film, thereby giving Turkish scholars the opportunity to continue the exchange of ideas on topics related to religion and film begun at the 2015 International Conference. Religion and film studies make a significant contribution to how we understand religion. They also make an important contribution to how we understand film and the impact the film has on culture.
